The Nòria del Botó or Sénia del Riu Sec (Dry River Waterwheel) was located in the right bank of the “La Comuna” ditch in the Guardamar Farmland Area. It was built and later on restored by the Waterwheel expert Mr. Enrique Orts, known as “El Zorra”. This water elevation device belongs to a “crown” type waterwheel moved by animal traction. The boxes or buckets are the same body as the waterwheel. This allows for water to be elevated at a lesser height. It is made up of a mechanism of two wheels, the waterwheel and the trolley or counter wheel.
